Three Classic Greenlandic Towns

The polar summer is brief and hectic and encourages physical adventure as well as pure relaxation. There’s room for everything and more on this 8-day active holiday to three very different places: Sisimiut, Ilulissat and Kangerlussuaq.

Sisimiut is the second largest town in Greenland. Here you’ll find a multitude of possible excursions or just head for the mountains with rivers and lakes, fish, bird life and millions of flowers. The town itself is also well worth enjoying and you will experience how beautifully a town can be nestled within nature.

In Ilulissat you may venture out to the ice fjord, go by boat to the village of Oqaatsut or you may be thrilled by the all-day boat outing to the Eqi glacier and witness its icy calving, marveling at the lights and colours scintillating over the many icebergs floating in the Disko Bay.

Kangerlussuaq is a former US military base, situated only 25 kilometres away from the gigantic ice cap. A dramatic landscape with more than 5,000 musk oxen in the area.
