Winter programme

Qasigiannguit is one of the few places you can take a dogsled ride as early as December. And if you want to experience the true Greenlandic Christmas spirit, together with the Northern Lights and dogsled tours, then why not spend Christmas in Qasigiannguit!

8. Dogsled trip in the Qasigiannguit mountains
We wind through the mountains, ending in a long and beautiful valley enclosed by sheer cliffs. Beneath the ice you may be able to hear the gurgle of water, and in some places the river has cut through the ice, and a light steam rises from within the earth. A winter landscape in all its harsh beauty. A trip for the nature-lover.

Season: December-April
Duration: 3-4 hours
Price: EUR 100.- DKK 700.-. Minimum 1 participant

9. Northern Lights in the silent polar night
We glide out over "The Great Sea" in the polar night, the crunching of the snow and the panting of the dogs the only sounds we can hear. The cold makes your face tingle, giving you an intense feeling of being alive. Soon the lights of the town are left behind. We take a rest at a cabin that stands alone in the world of white around us. At this time of year the Northern Lights shimmer above in the dark night sky, and bright stars twinkle down at us - it's Mother Nature's unforgettable firework display!

Season: December-April
Duration: 2 hours
Price: EUR 65.- DKK 765.-. Minimum 1 participant

10. Dogsled trip to Mågefjeldet (Gull Mountain)
The dogs are ready to run over the frozen Flyver Lake. Soon they get into their rhythm and pull the sled on which you sit through a varied landscape of lakes, fjords and mountains. From Mågefjeldet there is a fantastic view of Disko Bay right out to Disko Island, floating like a mirage in the distance. We take the same route home. It gives you a great feeling of peace to sit and enjoy the crunching of the snow, the panting of the dogs and the beautiful winter landscape.

Season: December-April
Duration: 3-4 hours
Price: EUR 110.- DKK 750.- Minimum 1 participant
